Things I Like - Spring!

I am so happy about today being the first day of spring! The weather we had yesterday and what I am hoping for again today is what a winter day is like in Phoenix. In the 4 years prior to this one I experienced the ever so welcome in my book Phoenix winter. I've now made it through an entire Tri City winter and am ready for my Phoenix winter...aka spring in the Tri Cities. Did that all sound repetitive, maybe, oh well...I think you get the picture that I'm not a huge fan of cold weather; at all!

I went for a walk the other day, like I do most days. I usually take my walks early in the morning before getting ready for work but latley with this fantastic weather I've been going when I get home from work. It was Tuesday evening that I realized Spring Has Sprung! I was passing the trees along the walking path on Sandifur as noticed they had the little buds on them. Yahoo...warm weather is within reach!

Spring makes me want to clean out the garage, which is something I've been dying to do since we moved Benny's things here to the house in Novemeber. I mean I can barely walk through it anymore and miraculously I can still park my truck in there, but that's pushing it. If you read my post about clutter you'll understand how I can't stand this about the garage. So, on my list of things to do this weekend...take a couple of walks, clean the garage, wash my truck myself in the driveway oh yeah and Kasi's baby shower for little baby Gage who will be here in May!

I look forward to the warm days and the wildflowers Benny brings home from his days out fishing. To finish up all I really have to say is WELCOME SPRING!!!

Things I Like- Relaxing After a Rough Day

So I started this post about two weeks ago and I've really been slacking in the posting department so I'm going to just post it as is. I think where I was going with it was that I was going to explain how I enjoy relaxing when I get home from one of those days at work. Well I had another one of those days yesterday and now I have to find a new job because apparently there is no more work for me to do. I have mixed emotions about this but I'll save those thoughts for later since this started out a post about something I like.

***************************************************************
I'm sitting here trying to think about what I'd like to post for a things I like post. There are so many things I do like but today for whatever reason I am having a difficult time narrowing that down to one thing. Its not because I have a list of things just sitting here awaiting my choice, but because today I honestly cannot decide how to go about choosing one thing.

I guess it should begin with me saying that I have had one of those days. So many little issues going on and when you put all of those little things together its so easy to think that its possible all the effort you been putting into life is sitting on a sinking ship. I remind myself that I am an optimistic gal and that there really is nothing out there that I cannot get through, but sometimes it would just be so much easier to succumb to everything trying to drag me down and just be pissed off at the world.

I am sure we all have these days and I know that when I write about days like this I tend to look back and think, 'how trivial, I was just being a big baby.' But as those types of days unfold it for some reason feels like it would be easier to just go under with that sinking ship.

While at work today around 4:00 I hit that wall...you know the one, the one where your brain is just done functioning efficiently for the day regardless of what you try to do to jumpstart it. All I could think about was getting home and snuggling up with my Benny. As I do most days I call Benny on my drive home. Today he didn't have appointments so he was out fishing...imagine that, Benny fishing? Haha Of course he was fishing. Well, I was really looking forward to just going home and spending a nice evening at home with him.

Well, I've been relaxing at home a little. I took a hot bath (which I rarely do), I had a mojito (also something I do rarely these days) and I ate dinner. That's when Benny called to tell me that he left his fishing pole up at Ringold. So, I am awaiting his arrival to pick me up so we can drive the 1/2 hour back out there to go look for it, in hopes he didn't drive over it as he left earlier. My first instinct was to say who cares, its a fishing pole. But then I think oh yeah...its one of Benny's fishing poles. He loves fishing and he spends a lot of money on those crazy things not to mention the reel. So... here I sit waiting for him to come get me so we can head out there to look for it.

Now that I've started talking I am realizing I am somehow avoiding the original topic. Things I like. Well, Benny just got here so I'm off to find the fishing pole. BRB

Ok, we're back...fishing pole in tact and in hand! I guess what it all comes down to is that sometimes we adapt and change the direction we are headed becasue of circumstances that come up in life. I got in my little bit of relaxing to find out that I couldn't really relax if Benny was worried about his fishing pole, since he would continue to fret about it until it was found. Therefore what I like is not only relaxing after a rough day but, locating something that we thought initially may be lost or broken for good. It ended up a success, I got in my relaxing and Benny found his pole in tact. Phew...this day is done, stick a fork in it!
