James Otto Concert

My mom RoxAnne, my sister KasiAnne and I went to see James Otto in concert back in May. My mom has been asking me to see these pictures since then. I've been wanting to post them for at least that long, but have been wanting to edit them a little first and getting to editing portion of a post seems to need to fit into when I have time to sit down at my computer for awhile. So mom, here you go, I hope you enjoy them. We had such a great time at the concert, a girl's nite out.

James Otto calls Benton City home and it was fun to see a concert of someone who calls the Tri Cities area home. Good to know someone from here went to Nashville and is putting out some great music that seems to be doing great across the country. I sure like his music and as long as he keeps crankin' out the great tunes, I'll be listening. This concert was the first night I used my new digital camera and I'll tell you what...who needs front row seats when you have a camera like this! The first concert photo gives you an idea how far back our seats were, the other concert photos show how awesome my new zoom lens is!

Ghetto Slip n' Slide

Yes, I have been a huge neglecter of the blog latley. So, what better of a post than to put up pics of us rockin' our ghetto slip n' slide to make up for it (be prepared to laugh!)!?! I got some great 'action' shots of Masynn having an absolute blast...oh ok and of us big kids too. Gage even had to get in on the action, from his swing at least. He's pretty good at just hangin' out and lookin' cute. Guess his Mr. Cute nickname fits him good, for now at least.

It was a hot 4th of July weekend and since we were all too lazy and no one really wanted to spend the money, my brother-in-law Mike said...'heh, we could just make our own slip n' slide.' And we did just that! He grabbed the roll of visqueen from the garage, some tent stakes and a hammer then dragged over the hose and whallaaa, instant adult sized slip n' slide! He even added some Palmolive dish soap to make it even more slick. It streched almost the entire width of Kasi & Mike's backyard. It was fun being kids again if even for a little bit. I highly recommend the Ghetto Slip n' Slide, cheap and a great way to cool off from those hot summer days and you may even burn a few calories!

Snippet & Ink

I look at blogs daily and latley I love Snippet & Ink. Its mostly wedding stuff, but even if you aren't in the market for a wedding, you may know someone who is or want to reminisce back on your own.

The photos are grouped beautifully and there are tons of links and resources to find other pretty things. Its just an all around inspiration blog. I love to look at the things that others are so inspired by that they use those things on the most important days of their lives. I am impressed with the originality of people and the unique things they are finding. I love the ideas, the colors and the ways that different odd and random things are incorporated to make such lovely backdrops.

Take a look...enjoy!

Things I Like - Smells

Yes! Smells! There are some smells in life that I just cannot get enough of. I didn't realize how important this was to me until I moved to Phoenix and realized I was missing some of the distinct smells of back home in the Tri Cities. Then I got to thinking about all of the different smells that I love and thought, what a fun 'Things I Like' blog!

The only real issue I have with this post...Microsoft hasn't come up with a program to make my photos scratch n' sniffable yet! And oh how wonderful would it be if only I could bottle each scent for my own smelling pleasure. I would have them all lined up in a row and whenever I have the desire to breathe in each scent's own sweet aroma I could grab a bottle, pull the cork and allow the fragrance to engulf the room and excite my senses.

Family Photo Day

My family and I all got together at my dad's house yesterday morning to take pictures of my sister's family for the last time as a threesome and also to do some maternity pictures of Kasi. We went ahead a turned it into a family photo session. Here are the family pics. The Wilson family pictures and Kasi's maternity pictures are on my other blog Secret Smile Studio. Since the pictures I put on this site were mainly taken with me in them, that most likely means I wasn't the one behind the camera, so I didn't put them on my photography site. I did want to share them though 'cause I think they turned out great. I just love this one of Masynn and I on the back of my dad's old flatbed truck. He has it parked in the driveway and you can see Columbia Park and the Blue Bridge behind us. It just turned out great. This picture was Masynn's idea and Kasi took it for us. Masynn is showing great signs of what it would take to be a great photographer. Look out world she might be taking a picture of you next!
